Liam Clavering will make the step up from our U18s to first team squad for the remainder of the season, after the young talented forward has impressed in training over recent weeks.
Praising Liams attitude and effort in training, first team manager Marc Nash said: "Liam was recommended to the first team by his U18 coach and he's more than held his own during training.
He looks sharp and has plenty of pace so like Charlie Smith, he needs to keep wanting to progress and learn. The senior lads are also offering good advice, so the environment he's in will give him the confidence to try and break into the squad.
Opportunities like this show the clear pathway from Juniors into Seniors within the club, something we are extremely committed to maintaining and developing."
NBSFC U18s coach Gareth Edwards, who’s seen Liam develop within his squad, said: "Liam has been outstanding since joining our squad. His contribution has been a key part to the team's great performances & results, becoming a firm favourite with his team mates.
"Liam's goalscoring record is phenomenal, but it is his attitude and work rate in & out of possession that has impressed myself & Warren most. We are over the moon to see him progress to the 1st team squad, joining his U18 team mate Charlie Smith. It shows the pathway available to our young squad here at Blue Star."
