Newcastle Blue Star are out hunting for revenge against Newcastle Benfield as they prepare for a fiery contest on Tuesday night.
Today I will be going through the key players Blue Star will need to keep a close eye on if they want to execute revenge.
Blue Star are coming into this game after beating Guisborough Town 1-0 thanks to a Dan Lanning penalty, as for Newcastle Benfield, they narrowly beat West Allotment Celtic 1-0.
1) Noah Millington – Forward
Millington has been a big threat for Newcastle Benfield going forward this season. He hasn’t got many goals, only scoring five, wever two of them have came in his last three game. Millington may not score many but his directness and his willingness to take opposition players will give Blue Star something to think about.
2) Aidan Haley – Midfielder
Haley has recently just returned for Newcastle Benfield in their last game against West Allotment. Although Haley doesn’t score much, he plays a very important part in the midfield.
He is a powerful player who is also good technically and has a commanding presence in the centre of the park to dictate the game. Haley also covers a lot of ground between both boxes and has been a key player for Newcastle Benfield so far this season.
3) Bradley Varga – Defender
Varga is the key central defender for Newcastle Benfield as well as their captain. He is a very strong defender aerially who reads the game well and will always give 100% for his team.
Varga isn’t afraid to put in a challenge as he possesses the no nonsense centre back role which we don’t see much anymore but he also has the attributes of a modern day ball playing defender which gives his team more freedom in the way they play.
This game is bound to be a tense one as both teams race for the playoffs. Blue Star currently sit in fifth heading into this game but will be hoping to strengthen their grip on the playoffs places as a positive result could take them third while having games in hand.
As for Newcastle Benfield they currently sit ninth in the league on 49 points a victory for them will see them firmly in the race for promotion as they could rise to sixth, one place behind Blue Star.
