Player Watch: Marske United

By James Young

Blue Star will make another long journey this time out, as they prepare to face Marske United who currently sit 13th in the league.

Marske United recently drew 2-2 in an entertaining game with Easington Colliery, as for Blue Star they fought out at 0 - 1 victory over Guisborough Town to move up to fourth.

In today’s piece I will be going over the key players Blue Star will need to watch out for if they want to continue their promotion push.

1.) Mccorrie Carmichael – Forward

Blue Star know about Carmichael as he scored a brace against them all the way back at the start of the season in warmer climates. As Marske ran out 2-1 winners down at Scotswood. Carmichael has already scored 12 goals this campaign and will be eager to add to his tally on Tuesday night.

However, Carmichael will be hungry as ever as he looks to break his goal scoring drought as his last goal came against Carlisle City on the 16 th of November.

2.) James Sayer – Midfield

Sayer is a player with very good technical ability and is the type of player who can flip the game on its head.

Blue Star will need to be on their toes when he is on the ball and not give him the space or the time to dictate the game.

So far this season Sayer has got seven goals and scored in Marske' most recent game against Easington Colliery. Sayer record this season when playing for Marske is that he has 13 wins two

draws and 13 losses. He has also managed to pick up three man of the matches along the way.

3.) Kyran Clark – Forward

Marske top goal scorer this season is Clark who has got 15 goals in 23 appearances this season and will be hoping to add to his tally on Tuesday night.

Clark is a clinical finisher and when given a chance he will score nine times out of ten. Blue Star cannot afford to give him space in and around the box otherwise they will be punished.

He recently got a brace on the 28th of December as Marske defeated Northallerton Town 2-1 and he was also awarded the man of the match awarded.

Blue Star will be aiming to continue their push for promotion as a victory could take them into second place and hot on the heels of the league leaders Redcar Athletic.

A victory for Marske could take them up to 11th place as they look to move up the table however they have only won once in their last nine in all competitons.
